Block Impact Minimizer |
1 host per facility This host cannot support other process-heavy functionality, such as EDI or the N4 Automation Schedulers. If the LDC is not being used with BIM, there are no extra HW requirements beyond the minimum required to run an N4 node. If the LDC is being used with BIM, you must refer to Additional Memory required for Live Data Caches (on page 1) |

ECN4 XD server |
1 host in the form of a dedicated XPS client, configured with special privileges. |
2 cores |
4 GB (2) |
60 GB |
Scaled N4 XD service |
3 hosts in the form of dedicated XPS client(s), configured with special privileges. (Optional) For large terminals with more than 2M annual TEU, consult with Navis. For more information on the number of hosts recommended for your operations, see How many N4 XD servers do I deploy? in the Navis N4: Setup, Maintenance, and System Diagnostics Guide. |

4 cores |
12 GB + Additional required for live data cache (on page 1) |
100 GB |
EDI File Server Host |
1 dedicated host if EDI messaging volume is more than 500,000 TEU. |
4 cores |
12 GB |
10 GB |
System Monitoring Host |
A dedicated host for the monitoring server and its database as applicable. |
Follow the recommendations for your selected monitoring tool for the supported OS, hardware, and software requirements. |
1 Physical or virtual cores, 2.5 GHz or faster
2 If you are running more than one XPS client application on the same workstation:
For sites under 3 million annual TEU, add 1 GB for each additional XPS client application.
For sites over 3 million annual TEU, add 2 GB for each additional XPS client application.
For N4 with Kafka
To run N4 on a high-availability Kafka platform, you need to deploy a Kafka cluster with a minimum of three brokers. Note that the Center Node and Standby nodes are not required for N4 with Kafka.
These are the minimum requirements for a TOS with a 2 million TEU load.
Kafka brokers (VMs): Minimum of 3 VMs.
The Kafka broker must be on a separate VM from N4. Each VM requires the following:
Access to all N4 components: N4 cluster nodes, Bridge, ECN4, ECN4Web, and XPS client.
Operating System: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or RHEL
CPU: 4vCPU
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Hard disk: SSD 250GB, assuming retention of 24 hours.
Filesystem: XFS or ext4
Apache Kafka 3.5
Java Development Kit 11
Network: 1 Gbps or more
The other host requirements for N4 with Kafka is similar to that specified in the table above for N4 with AMQ.
