The Chargeable Unit Events view displays the billable events extracted for units that exist at the current scope level. If you are logged in at the complex level, the Chargeable Unit Events view displays the extracted billable events for all the facilities within the complex.

The Chargeable Unit Events view displays all the fields that an external billing system can use. All the records displayed in the Chargeable Unit Events view are stored in the argo_chargeable_unit_events table in the database. The external billing system can extract applicable fields from the argo_chargeable_unit_events table. The external billing system can also edit, update, and delete the values stored in the argo_chargeable_unit_events table.

When you update or correct any data displayed in the Chargeable Unit Events view, it does not affect the unit data stored in N4.

If you use the Rectify Units form to revert the event history of a unit, N4 also deletes any related chargeable events that it extracted for the selected unit.

Prerequisites

• Chargeable Unit Events Actions - Correct All privilege: To access the Actions menu options.

You can do any of the following:

• Manually extract the chargeable unit events (on page 1).

• Use the EventBillingExtract background job (on page 1).

For each extract, manual or through the background job, N4 adds the records to the Chargeable Unit Events view and assigns a batch number. N4 assigns the same batch number to all the events extracted in a single billing extract.

In addition, you can use the following Actions menu options to:

• Correct Unit Attributes (on page 1): Correct the event attributes for the selected unit events.

• Correct Cargo Attributes (on page 1): Correct the cargo attributes for the selected unit events.

• Correct Inbound/Outbound Attributes (on page 1): Correct the inbound/outbound routing attributes for the selected events.

• Correct Intended Inbound/Outbound Attributes (on page 1): Correct the intended inbound and outbound routing attributes for the selected events.

• Correct Flex Fields (on page 1): Correct the flex fields included in the selected events.

• Cancel Event (on page 1): Cancel an extracted event so that you can re-extract it the next time you select the associated unit.

You can cancel an event only if the status is QUEUED. You cannot cancel events with the PARTIAL or INVOICED status. In addition, you cannot cancel a STORAGE, LINE_STORAGE, or REEFER event.

When you generate a time-based event and finalize an invoice, the Chargeable Unit Events view (on page 1) in N4 displays the status as PARTIAL. If you record a non-time based service event for the same container, generate the invoice for that service event, and later delete the draft invoice, N4 Billing fetches the draft number of the most recent invoice and updates that number in the Last Draft Inv Nbr column in the Chargeable Unit Events view (on page 1) in N4.

Calculating demurrage and reefer charges

The following table show the settings you can configure to calculate demurrage and reefer changes, as well as the events that display in the Chargeable Unit Events view. N4 does not extract these as part of a chargeable unit event extract. Therefore, N4 does not associate a batch number with these events.

Purging Chargeable Unit Events

To configure the purging for chargeable unit events, see the setting ARGOPURGE049 (PURGE_CHG_UNIT_EVENT_DAYS_TO_RETAIN) in the online help or on the Kaleris Community Portal.

N4 purges a chargeable unit event only if the status is INVOICED.

When you purge (on page 1) a chargeable unit event using the N4 purge process, N4 first purges any guarantees associated with the chargeable unit event and then purges the event.

Locked field

You can use this field to mark a record that N4 must not update, automatically. This field only applies to STORAGE, LINE_STORAGE, and REEFER events. The user is responsible for setting this field. You can use the Correct Unit Attributes form (on page 1) to update this field.

For Pre-advised Units

When you delete a pre-advised unit that may have chargeable events associated with it, N4 also deletes the chargeable events if they are in the QUEUED or CANCELLED state. However, if there are any chargeable events for the pre-advised unit that are in the INVOICED state, N4 displays an error and does not allow you to delete the pre-advised unit.

For VGM fields

To view the VGM fields such as VGM Weight, VGM Verifier in the Chargeable Unit Events view (CUE) after getting updated in the Units view, you need to add the following fields to the ‘UnitExtractMap.xml’ used by the setting INVBILLING010 (BILLING_UPDATE_EXTRACT_ON_ENTITY_UPDATE) (on page 1) as follows:

Chargeable Unit Events Columns

The following table lists the columns displayed in the Chargeable Unit Events view (on page 1). In addition to the following columns, the Chargeable Unit Events view also displays any flex fields configured for the unit event billing extract.
