The Gate Inspection program enables you to inspect containers arriving at the terminal before the completion of all the physical ingate stages. You can view data collected during an inspection in the Inspections view (on page 1). In addition, you can inspect chassis arriving at the terminal bare or with a container. The ROADINSPECTION001 (on page 1) setting determines how long an inspection is active and displayed in N4.
N4 Mobile only works with ECN4 and is not supported by EC using the Radio Server.
N4 applies the inspection data to the unit at the gate stage following the gate inspection with the Gate Inspection program. Therefore, at least one gate stage must follow the inspection and the gate stage form must also contain all the same fields used in the Gate Inspection program.
If the gate clerk does not need access to some or all of the inspection fields in the gate stage form, in the Tran Type form (on page 1), select hidden in the Display Mode drop-down list.
The gate stage following a container inspection must include the WaitForContainerInspection (on page 1) business task in the gate stage configuration (on page 1). For a chassis inspection, this gate stage configuration must include the WaitForChassisInspection (on page 1) business task. These tasks save the inspection data in the Inspections view.
In addition, you must include the appropriate ApplyInspectionxxx business tasks, such as the ApplyInspectionDamages (on page 1) for damages, at a gate stage following the inspection where the gate transactions are processed. These business tasks apply the inspection data to the gate transaction.
To inspect a container or chassis at the gate:
If there is a container at the gate, in the Container field, enter the container ID.
For containers that already exist in N4, the minimum container ID entry is the last four digits.
For better performance, always enter the full container ID.
If there is a chassis at the gate, in the Chassis field, enter the chassis ID. You can enter a maximum of twelve characters in this field.
For chassis that already exist in N4, the minimum chassis ID entry is the last four digits.
Click .
The Container Inspection form (on page 1) appears. If there is a bare chassis at the gate, no container, then the Chassis Inspection form (on page 1) appears.
If N4 Mobile finds more than one matching containers or bare chassis for the ID you entered, the Matching Containers form appears to enable you to select the container or bare chassis from a list. If there are more than six matches, you must enter more digits for the container or chassis ID.
If the container or bare chassis does not meet the check digit or any other requirements of N4, the Gate Inspection program generates an error. To bypass the check digit error, click .
To log out of the Gate Inspection program: Select Alt+3 two times or select F3 if you're using Teklogix.
