Define Split Booking form
The Define Split Booking form enables you to split the booking and move selected units to either a new or an existing booking for the same line operator.
If one or more of the selected units cannot be split, none of the units are split.
To split the booking and move selected units:
In the Number field, enter the booking number to which you want to move the selected units. If the specified booking number:
Is the same as the current booking number, then you probably want to roll a booking (on page 1) instead.
Does not exist, a new booking is created that has the same line operator and other details as the current booking.
Exists for the same line operator as the current booking, the existing vessel visit and port of discharge for the specified booking pre-populates in the Vessel Visit and Port of Discharge fields.
If the vessel visit is missing or incorrect, from the Vessel Visit lookup field select the vessel visit for the booking entered in step 1.
From the Port of Discharge lookup field, you can select a different port of discharge for the selected units.
The values available in the Port of Discharge lookup field depend on the vessel visit selected in step 2.
If the booking already exists, the Port of Discharge of the booking is not updated. But the Port of Discharge for the moved units is set to the one selected in the Define Split Booking form.
Click Save to move the selected units to the new booking.
If the booking number and vessel visit combination already exists:
The booking must have booking items defined for the selected equipment types.
The equipment tally must not exceed the specified limit in the booking.
You can move hazardous units to a non-hazardous booking. The hazards associated with the unit will not be propagated to the non-hazardous booking.
The Freight Kind of all the selected units must be compatible with the Freight Kind of the booking. For more information, see Compatible Freight Kind values (on page 1).
When you split the booking using the Define Split Booking form, N4 ensures that:
The selected units are not loaded or departed on a vessel.
The new vessel visit selected is not in the Departed phase.
The current date is not past the cutoff date specified in the new vessel visit for selected unit types such as reefer.
The current date is not past the cutoff date specified in the existing vessel visit, except if the vessel has already departed, for selected unit types such as reefer.
If the Auto Roll option is set for the line operator, the following fields of the selected unit(s) are updated using the corresponding values of the specified booking:
Vessel Visit
Port of Load
Port of Discharge
Second Port of Discharge
Optional Pod1
Optional Pod2
Origin
Destination
Shipper and Consignee
For more information on the Auto Roll option, see the Booking Rules tab in the Line Operator form.
If the split booking action is successful, N4 records the UNIT_ROLL event for the selected unit(s). To view the event, use the Unit Inspector (on page 1) History, Events tab (on page 1) of the selected unit(s).
