ROWDBV

Type: Penalty

Category: ROW

CHE Types: All

Reference: distribute by block

Description: If you want to evenly disperse containers with the same section factor between the available blocks, you can use the Expert Decking penalty ROWDBV (on page 1), which penalizes placing a container in a block that already has a certain number of containers with the same section factor, as set by Expert Decking threshold penalty ROWDTH (on page 1). The ROWDBV penalty is calculated as ROWDBV X (# matching containers - (the greater of the average or ROWDTH values) +1)

This can also be expressed as the lower value between the following two possible calculations:

(ROWDBV value) X (the number of matching containers above the ROWDTH value + 1)

(ROWDBV value) X (the number of matching containers above the average of matching containers across all blocks considered + 1)

Minimum = 0

Setting ROWDTH to XXXXX disables the penalty.

For details about how ROWDBV and ROWDTH work together, see Dispersing containers with the same section factor.

In 3.5, the ROWDBV logic was slightly tuned to generate better results. This may result in a slight delay in calculations.

Expert Decking does not apply the ROWDBV penalty while performing Explain and Assign housekeeping for both the current and future housekeeping positions.
